What this meeting costs — Apple Watch app · Last updated 18 October 2026
Set your pay rate, start the counter, and watch the money burn instead of the clock. It is a joke told with arithmetic — not a time tracker, and it will not help you bill anybody.
Yes. The app does not count ticks — it stores the moment the session started and works out the amount from the difference whenever it draws. Backgrounding the app, letting the screen sleep, or even force-quitting does not lose time or money.
No. Sessions under one minute are not recorded, and the app says so on screen instead of returning silently to the start. Below a minute the amount is too small to be the joke, and a history full of those is a history nobody opens.
The free app is a complete single-person timer with no session limit, absurd equivalents and the summary after every session, plus your three most recent receipts. Starting a session is never blocked.
The one-time purchase adds the room mode for more than one person, the burn target with its escalating haptics, meeting presets, the full receipt history, the today / week / month totals with your most expensive session so far, larger equivalents for expensive meetings, and the live amount on your watch face. There is no subscription and no account.
A tip, and nothing more. It unlocks no feature, adds no badge and changes nothing in the app — if it did, it would be a purchase rather than a thank you. You never have to press it, and the app will not ask you to. There is nothing to restore, because there is nothing to get back.
Open Settings → Pro and tap Restore purchase. Make sure the watch is signed in to the same Apple Account that made the purchase. The unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, so it never expires.
Yes, in Settings → Rate. Past receipts keep the rate they ran on — editing the rate never rewrites history.
Check the accrual basis in Settings → Rate. A monthly salary divided by working time and the same salary divided by calendar time are two very different per-second rates, and the difference is more than fourfold. The confirmation screen during setup shows what your entry works out to per hour and per second.
Without the one-time purchase, that is all it does: it opens the app. The live amount on the watch face is part of the purchase.
In the app, Settings → Data deletes all receipts, or erases everything and returns the app to its first screen. Deleting the app from the watch removes everything too. Nothing is stored anywhere else — see the privacy policy.
Because there would be nothing for it to do. The point is showing somebody your wrist.

If you are reporting a problem, the watch model, the watchOS version and what you were doing when it happened make it far easier to find.
